In the South, everyone is greeted warmly in your home, you can be yourself, anyone older than you is addressed as “Sir” or “Ma’am”, doors are opened for the ladies, every house has a magnolia or pecan tree in the yard, and every front porch has folks sipping on sweet tea or freshly squeezed lemonade. In the South, you must always feed your guests. In the South, the food is made with soul, and from scratch. Rodeo offers this experience to its patrons: a little slice of Southern Hospitality made especially for you.
Originally from Beaumont, Texas, co-owner Trent Baker created all of the dishes that are inspired from the environment he grew up in. Beaumont, which is located outside Houston, is nestled along the Gulf Coast, and is only minutes away from Louisiana. Texas, which is considered to be both part of “The South” and “The Southwest”, prides itself on these culinary influences, especially with their claim to fame of chili and barbeque. Bordered by Mexico, Texas is home of the “Tex-Mex” cuisine. This array of food is what Trent grew up with, and he has brought a sample of this to South Florida via Rodeo.
The owners, Trent Baker and Chris Robbins, are from the South and know what real southern hospitality is. Both the menu and atmosphere create an upscale yet comfortable feel. A haven of comforting foods inspired from the Southern United States, Rodeo serves an assortment of Southwestern, Tex-Mex, Barbeque, Cajun/Creole, and traditional Southern cuisine. Cilantro, roasted red peppers, Southern pecans, cumin scented black beans, grit cakes, chipotle, smoky barbeque sauce, roasted corn, molasses, and chilies accent just a few of the dishes. While offering an authentic and distinctive dining experience, Rodeo showcases some of the greatest flavor to come out of any Southern inspired kitchen.
The design is inspired by old Southern charm. The atmosphere encourages to you to relax and enjoy a conversation. From the moment you walk in, you will experience genuine Southern Hospitality. We want every "guest" that walks through our front door to feel welcomed as if they are in our own home.
